SWG3 is one of Scotland’s leading multi-disciplinary arts and events venues, playing host to a multitude of events from major touring musical acts, artists and conferences, to creative co-work space and restaurants.
SWG3 are currently undertaking a major expansion as part of a 5-year master plan. In November 2021, they hosted the New York Times Climate Hub, as part of COP26. SWG3 wanted to use this stage to announce a bold vision of their responsible future. They engaged Stance to help them identify ways to radically reduce their emissions and set a path to becoming a more responsible business, all while recovering from a very challenging 18 months during the pandemic.
Stance delivered an ambitious but realistic plan that their team could lead to reducing SWG3’s carbon emissions, reducing energy costs, engaging stakeholders and customers, and using SWG3’s influence to create a broader positive impact. Through our co-design approach, we developed understanding, alignment, and capability across the organisation, resulting in a clear short-to-long-term emissions reduction plan and a bold vision for the future and purpose for being.
To ensure SWG3 could work towards their goals with relative autonomy, we developed a simple to use dashboard and helped their team build capability to measure and manage key metrics, forming their ‘Green Team’.
We continue to support SWG3 to enhance their strategy as they expand their estate.
